holiday highlights

we have been to Sicily for a week and had a great holiday with my mum and here are the high and low lights of it...

1. the journey was very long but the sun and warmth were defiantly worth the trip

2. The neighbours Dog barked every time you walked past the front door and was really loud - especially at 1.30 in the morning when you first arrived and weren't even sure you were in the right place

3. the toy dog made geraint feel right at home.

4. It was hot and sunny and about 24 degrees everyday and the people thought we were mad dressing in summer clothes but we thought thy were mad dressing in coats and scarfs

5. Driving is crazy - if there were 2 lanes of road there were 5 lanes of cars. it was scary and slightly stressful - Geraint coped very well most of the time and Izzy only screamed a few times.

6. the sea was soooooo clear and it was great to paddle.

7. Their pottery is amazing and i spent far too much money but I've done all my Christmas shopping! (well nearly)

8. Their bread is lovely but not very good for your teeth and i now have tooth ache and need a filling where my tooth broke!

9. The church in Messina is lovely - they were so friendly and it was great to sing in Italian even if i didn't have a clue what i was singing

10. the church bells were really annoying cos they chimed every half and hour 24 hours a day. and the level crossing was annoying too especially at 7am

11. torramina ( a Greek amphitheatre) was a very beautiful place.

12. We had planned to go to the angolian islands but Geraint and I were glad we couldn't understand the man cos we found this amazing cove and had a great afternoon paddling and watching jelly fish and sitting in the sun.

13. Italian food is really yummy, their pizza and ice cream and orangina's ( that's the English translation)( rice and mince and cheese rolled together and deep fried)

14. Etna was foggy and we couldn't see anything.

15. Geraint loved the espresso and brought a coffee pot home.

16. i really hate flying

17. Jonathan and Annette have some great kids games.- can you name these?

18.The flowers were great - you had autumn colours and then great beautiful masses of pink and purple flowers - it was lovely.

19. i hate travelodge's - they are horrible places to stay. - but their breakfast was OK.

20. its good to be home - i missed everyone
