Well i went to an interview in Dudley yesterday.

I had a nightmare trying to decide what to wear, i ironed 3 outfits and still wore the first on! - my batman wings purple top and cream linen trousers and jacket.

It took me 2 hours to drive there rather than an hour so only had time for a drink rather than lunch before i went to the interview. then i t took 3 hours to drive home due to a crash on the motorway

The interview was OK - i had to do a test on my knowledge which was OK apart from there was one court word that i could not remember for the life of me and didn't remember till i was half way home, but i must have written round it enough to show what i meant without actually using the word 'hybrid orders'

the interview was done by 3 people - the chief executive and then 2 other managers (who make up the senior managers)- a man who is in charge of all the specialist and then a woman who is in charge of all the advice services and volunteers.

i can't remember what they asked me but i remember thinking that answer is not very good at a few points! then i took the oportunity to grill them.

The job is very much like my job pre-April before we mergered and i had all the responsibility taken off me. There is a larger team of 5 plus the team leader ( job i went for) and based in the middle of Dudley. They have a range of experienced staff to trainees and have not had a team leader for a while due to someone being off on long term sick.

The job is part of the management team (6 people) so would include some strategic work and development decisions.

They were quite concerned at the amount of work i do in my current job and expect that the case load would be halved only doing 1 - 1/2 days of case work a week.

the other time will be spent supervising and managing targets and training.

i was there about an hour and they all seemed really nice.

They offered me the job within 5 minutes of leaving and have offered me 30 hours rather than full time - which i asked them to consider as this is what i work now and find that 30 hours is enough when you are involved in church and other things.

this is a big move and i am now very scared... Geraint has handed his notice in and i will give mine on Monday. we need to sort the house and get it on the market and are going to look at renting for the next few months while we get used to the area, geraint finds a job and we sell ours.

Big change is ahead but i know God goes before us and our time and future are in his hands and we will trust him as we go forward.
