wow - its 2 months since I've blogged and time has defiantly flown - i know we are well and truly settled here because we just don't seem to have free moments to sit and rest or blog and there is always a huge list of things that i really should do and things i want to do and the things i want to do never seem to get done. But today is the exception. - I AM going to blog!!!
The highlights of December and January are many, with a few low lights thrown in cos that's life so here is a bit of a catch up
- I'm sorry for the lack of photos - i can't find the computer lead or the card reader, but will Post later.
1. mum came to visit twice. - she came at the end of November and then for 2 weeks a Christmas.
2. made lots of Christmas cakes and made a wedding cake twice as the first one fell apart - but we and friends have enjoyed eating it!
3. went to visit Colin and Joy ( geraints mum and dad) and had a lovely time in the snow and i tried to sledge on a bin bag and failed miserably. went on some lovely walks and enjoyed the quiet before the storm.
4. Christmas - geraint worked but lots of had lots of fun when we were at home - but we didn't spend much time at home.
5. went to Sheffield to visit my brother and family and spent 2 days looking after my nephew - we played Lego, Lego, Lego, Lego, Lego,Lego and some more Lego. We also played football and monopoly and on the wii and went bowling and i was shattered by the end of the day.
6. geriant let me buy lots of new decorations for our house and even an outside snowman for the house at Christmas. but i wasn't allowed a tree for ages.
7. we enjoyed the now building snowmen and i cleared our drive of snow - which was very hard work
8. i had lots of lovely Christmas present - we got a water butt and a wheelbarrow and i got clothes and a new phone, geraint got a slow cooker and books and sweets and a new coat and lots of other lovely things.
9. i got a new cook book full of cakes and puddings so i am gradually trying out a few!! - so much for the new year diet - i think it is going to be a February or march start at the rate i am going!
10. work is a bit quiet at the moment and we are fighting for clients but it does give us time to get other things done!
11. work has lost £1.2 million of funding and will close its doors on the 7th Feb. - a huge loss to Birmingham, with no free advice available. there may be a chance of some other funding but we have all had redundancy notices and are all starting to look and apply for new jobs.
12. toddler had a Christmas crib service which was great and toddlers has started again and I'm still enjoying getting to play with lots of children and getting to know lots of mums
13. went to see the kings speach - fab film - as everyone says - lots of swearing but it was really good.
14. we have started small groups/house groups at Church - 10 of us (well usually about 5 or 6 - depending on child care, whose house and shifts) meet every other week - its really good to meet and pray and study the bible.
15. i got given a great big present of lots of cake decorating things from a Friends mum whose sister had died - wow they were great and amazing. I'm using them lots!
16. dishwasher broke just before Christmas and we needa plumber to come and sort our water supply to it. - it works occasionally.
17. we lost thimble on a walk and found her again with the help of a lovely woman - i was very upset and all thimble was concerned about was finding her ball.
18. we got given 2 months free membership of love film - I've enjoyed watching lots of DVDs especially toy story 3 - very sad - i cried and street dance and many more.
19.its was my birthday - and that is a whole other story
