we had grand plans of knocking the supporting wall down between the kitchen and dining room, blocking up the backdoor and turning the dining room doors into a big door. we found a builder and agreed the plans and went away happy that it could be done.
work began on the Friday and Saturday before we went away and we emptied our kitchen. It then looked like this...
geraint started to take one of the walls down that wasn't a supporting wall to cut down the cost.
We stored all non essential kitchen stuff upstairs and filled the lounge with everything else. and it looked like this..
last week while we were away the builder came to knock down the walls and do the major building work.
Ad lets just say it is a work in progress:
He had a few major problems along the way.
he was meant to be leaving us with a sink and a few units so we could survive the 7 weeks till the kitchen comes but sadly because it was soooo rotten it had to go - the only water we now have is 2 floors up in the bathroom!

the wall that was mean to be taken away, is only had most of it taken away cos of some problem -we don't really understand what. so now the new kitchen which is already ordered won't really fit!

We are slightly stressed, the dogs are confused and keep going to ht back door to be let out but it just isn't there anymore!!
Oh and he found rats living under our back step - they ran away but i hate to think where to!
I'm so glad i came home from holiday
