Work

Work is mad, and lots of things have been happening.

As of the 1st of April we are now Cheshire West CAB (it has finally happened), this has meant lots of reorganisation, new bosses and quite a lots of stress, i keep thinking that things are going to calm down and then something else happens, my new boss changes the goal posts every 5 minutes and that is making it more stressy than usual, especially when i suggested we do things one way at the beginning of April, she has tried 2 other ways since and now we are back to my suggestion. i have the advantage that my old boss is now her boss and i know what he is like and what he will want.

I'm also working full time - it was only meant to be for April, now its April and may and it looks like it might be April, may and June!! We had 2 new posts in money advice and have recruited one who starts on the 1st June but failed to recruit the other, we have re advertised and the closing date is Friday. we interview at the end of the month and i hope they don't have to give notice so i can stop doing full time.

I have also been asked to do some free lance training - which i am very excited about, i love training people and seeing them become more enthused and better able to cope with the complexity and peculiarity of money advice, I'm doing a 5 Day course over a few months for several trainees in Cheshire (so again will be using my Wednesdays) and it should be fun. I've got loads of prep to do for it but I'm excited.

Also a major change has happened - i now have my own office!!! - We have a large old builidng in winsford which is lovely and we fill it quite well, The money advice unit at the moment has 6 staff in it and with 2 more people starting it meant some moving around and we realised we could not fit 8. AS the supervisor i have been moved out into my own office so i can get some peace and quiet away from everyone to get some work done. I am also doing so much more management stuff that it made sence for me to go rahter than having to book other rooms to do confidential stuff and run out the room every time i get a phonecall and have to talk about staffing issues. We spent wednesday clearing out my new office, it was full of boxes of old files and in a general mess, it has taken 2 days to get my phone and computer sorted, but i have brought a plant and called it marjorie, (lots of others have plants and they have given them names so i had to join in). My desk is an old desk and its falling apart but the new one should arrive nex week, I now have to pursade geraint to come and help me give it a coat of paint becuae the budget does not cover that kind of thing and it needs a bit of tlc. i hae a great big window and the sun streams in and its very quiet - i've never had my own office before and its a bit strange.
