Not only was it great to catch up with friends and have a laugh, some fun, having a chance to relax and meet with over 5000 other Christians. we have both had a great time of learning more about God. - his wonderful grace, holiness and amazing love he has for us.
Over the last few years i have really struggled to deal with the way my life has gone - no kids, naff job, adoption being turned down, ill health, having to move and too many difficult times. I have felt that i have been hanging on by my finger nails and God has had to do all the work cos i couldn't cope, through all this I have been assured of his presence and his perfect plan but i seemed to have lost the big picture.
Word alive was a chance to take a step back and see the big picture - the main series i went to was the rough guide to the whole bible - the whole bible in 4 days!! but it was great.
God is amazing, he created such an amazing world full of beauty and grace, its in a mess cos of us. he has worked through history to bring us to him to save his people and has faithfully answered them and kept his promises to them over centuries. He revealed himself to us and we have constantly failed. SO... He sent his son Jesus to earth. He was perfect and came into a world full of horrid sin and pain and he died on the cross to save us from our sin -he died for us to give us the opportunity to be with him forever.
i am horrid and i will never be anything else - i fail all the time - but in him i am made spotless, Alive and free.
it doesn't mean the hard times go away - there have been days this week and for the rest of life when i am still hanging on by my fingernails but there is something more important than that - God loves me and came to die for me and he deserves praise and worship for that.
