day 5 - Birthday blog

The day started early as i was too excited to sleep – geraint had said i wasn’t allowed to wake him till 10am – and being the obedient wife i didn’t – well not on prupose! – i sat in bed with the computer and made lots of noise opening my cards and my present from ione! Geraint didn’t stay asleep for much longer!

We had a lazy breakfast and more presents which vi wasn't expecting – geraint got me a bag for my bible and note book and colin and joy got me a crystal flower.

We had a lazy mornign with joy and her friend ruth whose birthday it also was. she was great fun and it was good to meet her – she told us a story of a 92 year old couple from her church who hav been married for 70 years – wow isn’t that amazing! The man still drives and as recenttly got the internet so he can keep in touch with his grandkids and skpye them – no one can ever say they are too old for the internet now! But mst funny was her story of her recent visit to them. She was offered a cup of coffee and she said it tasted weird and wasn’t very nice but drank some of it and washed it down with a biscuit. The next time she saw them and their son they asked her if she had enjoyed her coffee the other day and was it a bit strange – the 92 year old had bad cateracs and had mistakingly used bisto instead of coffee!

the excitement of my birthday then started

The train to london with a picnic brought from abergavenny market and tea. It was very yummy

The train doesn’t have wifi so i was a bit stuck of things to do apart from being too scared to use the train toilets! – thy are horrible and move too much and i’m always scared about being stuck in them!

We eventually got to london and headed for our travelodge to drump our stuff and head out.

Ist was covent garden and the market stalls and street entertainment and a leasurly walk through the street and shops just window shopping, we had dinner and then......

Sister Act – it was fab – we had our seats upgraded from the cheepest to the most expensive so had great seats! not like the film at all, all the songs were different although the stroy was the same it was fab and funny.

We headed home with tubs of ice cream for pudding.

What a great day!
